Later alternatives: 5 tools worth checking in 2026

Most people leave Later for one of two reasons: the social set model charges for profiles they do not use, or they wanted something that makes content rather than just publishing it.

We build Bleam, which is on this list, so read the last section first if you want the part where we say who should not buy it. Prices below were checked on the vendors' own pricing pages on 5 August 2026.

The thing that actually drives your bill

Every tool here prices the same job differently, and that structure matters more than the headline number.

Later sells social sets. Starter is one set at $18.75 a month billed yearly, and a set is 8 profiles. Growth is two sets at $37.50, Scale is six sets at $82.50. If you run one Instagram account you are buying 8 slots to use 1.

Buffer sells channels, one social account each, at $5 a month on Essentials or $10 on Team. There is a free plan covering 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel. This is the cheapest structure when you have few accounts and the most expensive when you have many: 20 accounts on Essentials is $100 a month.

SocialBee sells profile bundles: 5 profiles at $29, 10 at $49, 25 at $99, with agency tiers up to 150 profiles at $449.

Predis.ai sells credits, 1,300 a month on the $19 Core plan, which it describes as roughly 86 AI images or 9 videos. Video burns credits far faster than images, so your effective post count depends on what you make.

Schedulers versus content tools

The list splits cleanly in half, and picking the wrong half wastes more money than picking the wrong price tier.

Later, Buffer and SocialBee are schedulers. They take content you already have and publish it on a timetable. If your bottleneck is remembering to post, they solve it.

Predis.ai and Bleam generate the content. If your bottleneck is that nothing exists to schedule, a scheduler will not help, and this is the more common problem for a one person business.

Be honest about which one you have. A scheduler with an empty queue is a calendar.

Which one for which situation

One Instagram account, posting a few times a week. Buffer free, or Buffer Essentials at $5. Later's smallest plan is eight times more capacity than you need.

An agency with 20 or more client accounts. SocialBee Pro at $99 for 25 profiles, or Later Scale at $82.50 for 48. Per channel pricing turns punitive at this size.

You publish across many platforms. Later, Buffer and SocialBee all cover the major networks. This is the strongest argument against both content tools on this list.

You have no content to schedule. Predis.ai if you need video and multiple platforms, Bleam if you are Instagram only and selling in Indonesia.

Where Bleam fits, and where it does not

Bleam generates carousels, single posts and captions from a brand kit you fill in at onboarding, then schedules and publishes them to Instagram. Pricing is Rp 50,000 a month for Scheduler, Rp 299,000 for Pro and Rp 699,000 for Max, billed in rupiah, with annual billing charged as 10 months for 12.

Do not buy Bleam if you need more than Instagram. There is no TikTok, LinkedIn or X publishing. There is no DM or comment inbox at all, so if replying is the job, every other tool on this list serves you better. Pricing and support are built around the Indonesian market, which is a poor fit if you are billing in dollars and want US business hours support.

That rules out most readers of this page, and it should. If you are running one Instagram account for an Indonesian brand and the hard part is producing posts rather than publishing them, try Bleam.
